Protein Power: Easy turkey burgers

Turkey burger

Dinners can be hard when you work a busy job. You’re exhausted when you get in, and the last thing you want to do is cook a nice clean meal for yourself.

What you need are some easy, clean and delicious meals up your sleeve! This is one of my favourites. It only takes 30 minutes, it’s absolutely delicious and packed with protein – perfect for a post-gym meal.

Makes 2 big burgers. Add a side salad, quinoa or baked sweet potato wedges. (Or, like I did for an uber post-workout dinner – a poached egg!)

  • 500g turkey mince
  • 2 tbsp Thai sweet chilli sauce
  • Pinch of rock salt
  • 2 tsp cracked black peppercorns (the best!)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Mix all the ingredients together (not the coconut oil)
Grab a heavy bottomed frying pan. Pop your coconut oil in.
On the highest heat, seal the burgers.
Turn the heat down to approximately half.
Cook, turning the burgers for 15 minutes.
Turn the heat all the way back up for 5 minutes and cook on both sides.

The hot/medium mix of cooking these will keep the moisture in and make the burgers tender an succulent and might make someone say “wow, these are the best burgers you’ve ever made”*

*Happened. Success.
